Ella Lou Founders
Ella Lou’s founder, Lindsay, had an idea to found a company that merges French design and American business ideas. Ella Lou was born out of the belief that American consumers want the chic artisan-made and small production goods that are coveted and easy to find in France but somewhat elusive in the US. With these objectives in mind, we set out to launch Ella Lou. ![]() Lindsay is San Franciscan (but French in spirit). She has a wonderful (French) husband, precious 3 year-old daughter, and handsome Labrador/golden retriever mix pooch. Her background is in management consulting for large non-profit, international development, and non-governmental organizations. Through exposure to large philanthropic projects, Lindsay has grown to believe that the most effective way to lift populations out of poverty is to enable them to earn a consistent living. Unfortunately, many global artisans have lost their means for making a living as production has move from small, family-owned businesses to production in large, international factories. Not only is this financially devastating, but many of these artisans are now losing their skills because they are unable to get their goods to market.
Empowering artisans by providing them with a market for their products while offering a collection of stylish, well-made goods consumers can feel good about purchasing is our goal at Ella Lou.
