Ella Lou StoryDeeply inspired by French living, our products have a certain “je ne sais quoi” which we fell in love with. We seek small producers who share our passions for good design, bold colors, and products with a story behind them. All our products are hand-produced, in small batches. At Ella Lou, we believe in doing business ethically. We aim to forge positive, lasting relationships with not only our customers, but also the artisans that makes our products, and the many other small businesses we work with everyday. Our founding principles are :
Artisan-made Products:All of our items are hand-made, one piece at a time; in fact, many of them are unique, one-of-a-kind products and part of limited collections. Although many of our products are imported from abroad, we source them from their countries/regions of origin. We avoid mass-produced products and instead source products made using traditional, small-production techniques.
Long-term Partnerships:Ella Lou is committed to forming and sustaining relationships with our artisan suppliers, customers, and our communities. We actively pursue suppliers we believe meet our high quality standards and are practicing their trade in a responsible and sustainable way. We also invest in our own communities by working with other small, local businesses whenever possible.
Give Back:We firmly believe in giving back. One of our founding principles is that we share our success. We have entered into a unique partnership with the Global Soap Project ("GSP"), a not-for-profit organization which recovers discarded soap from hotels, reprocesses it into new bars of soap, and distributes them to vulnerable populations throughout the world.
Environmental Stewardship:Last but not least, Ella Lou is committed to the environment. We do everything possible to minimize our environmental footprint, from sourcing products made from certified organic cotton like the vast majority of our pestamels, to printing our paper products on recycled content paper, and using eco-friendly packaging materials (and minimizing materials used whenever possible). We welcome you on our journey as we discover the best of what the world's artisans has to offer. |
