Testimonials :

"My cousin, Erica introduced me to her dear friend Lindsay and her new Ella Lou pestemals ... Not only can they be used to swaddle babies (and adults) they're also ideal for beach, pool, or as couch throws. AND on cooler days, you can use them as... scarves!" - Rebecca Woolf, Girl's Gone Child

"Just picked up this Herringbone throw and it's my new favorite thing." - Camille Styles

"There's almost no place a super chic Ella Lou Bonbon Turkish Towel won't go: the beach, the pool, on a picnic, over the couch as a throw, around your neck as a makeshift "hey-that's-cute-where'd-you-get-that?" scarf..." - Eco fabulous

"I LOVE my Ella Lou pestemals. I took one on holiday with me to Croatia and it came to the beach with me everyday. Also been using them at home a ton. They take up no space on my bag and are great for taking to the pool." - a very satisfied customer

Ella Lou Founders

Ella Lou’s founder, Lindsay, had an idea to found a company that merges French design and American business ideas.

Ella Lou was born out of the belief that American consumers want the chic artisan-made and small production goods that are coveted and easy to find in France but somewhat elusive in the US. With these objectives in mind, we set out to launch Ella Lou.

Lindsay
Lindsay is San Franciscan (but French in spirit). She has a wonderful (French) husband, precious 3 year-old daughter, and handsome Labrador/golden retriever mix pooch. Her background is in management consulting for large non-profit, international development, and non-governmental organizations.

Through exposure to large philanthropic projects, Lindsay has grown to believe that the most effective way to lift populations out of poverty is to enable them to earn a consistent living. Unfortunately, many global artisans have lost their means for making a living as production has move from small, family-owned businesses to production in large, international factories. Not only is this financially devastating, but many of these artisans are now losing their skills because they are unable to get their goods to market.

Claire
Empowering artisans by providing them with a market for their products while offering a collection of stylish, well-made goods consumers can feel good about purchasing is our goal at Ella Lou.
