Wanderlust Wednesday: Northern California Coast - Russian River

by Lindsay Thomasson June 11, 2014

Growing up in Sacramento, the Northern California coast was our playground. I have wonderful memories of summers spent at Dillon's Beach, where my family rented a house for a couple weeks every summer... Of bundling up for foggy morning walks along the beach to collect sea shells... Of picking baskets of blackberries by the roadside which my mom would then bake into homemade pies... Of hours spent rolling down the sand dunes... Of hours spent with family and friends enjoying the beauty that is the Northern California coast.

This weekend a close friend was participating in the Vineman Monte Rio triathlon so we decided to spent the weekend in Sonoma and cheer her on! We spent Saturday night in the small coastal town of Jenner and then Sunday got up bright and early to watch the race in Monte Rio. It was the perfect way to spend a weekend!  Although we woke up to a very chilly, foggy Sunday morning in Jenner, just a few miles inland in Monte Rio, the temperatures were approaching 100 which allowed us to enjoy a refreshing afternoon dip in the Russian River.

Sometimes the most special places are close to home! Is there a special place you spent time growing up that holds a special place in your heart?

A Color Story: NOLA

New Orleans home are some of the most beautiful and vibrant homes I have ever come across in the United States. I'm mulling over how to translate the inspiration they provided me into an Ella Lou collection.

Outtakes from our Recent Photo Shoot

by Lindsay Thomasson November 06, 2014

Bonjour! I was recently asked by a journalist to provide a few shots of my daughter and I playing with Ella Lou products for an upcoming article (more about that later) and realized I didn't have any. I have hundreds of her playing with my Wanderlust Playmats, wrapped in a pestemal, or hugging pillows. However, because I am typically behind the camera, we didn't have any of us together. We decided to make an afternoon of it and made an appointment at Blink for a quick photo shoot.

Favorite Kids Shops in Paris

by Lindsay Thomasson June 23, 2014

On my most recent trip to Paris, I asked my close friend Vanessa, a particularly savvy Parisian, for a list of her favorite Parisian kids stores. Having recently developed our line of Wanderlust Playmats, I am increasingly interested in well-designed children's products and spaces. The Parisian children's stores did not disappoint. Here I share a few of my favorites.
