Vintage Indigo Throw Blanket from Mali - Deux

  • Beautiful hand-woven and dyed indigo cotton blankets from the Dogon tribes of Mali. Some pieces are dyed using a resist technique and others are pure blue; all are gorgeous. We seek out the very best quality pieces, all were used, loved, and are extremely soft from laundering and wear. The fabric is made from hand-woven strips that are stitched together to create a large cloth. They were commonly used as wrap-around skirts and have been repaired repeatedly over the years.
  • This particular blanket is dyed using a resist technique and has a very subtle gold metallic lurex stripe running through it vertically.
  • If you are someone who admires "patina" and pieces with a story, these are for you! Lovely draped over the arm of the couch, the foot of the bed or on the wall as a large art piece.
    > each blanket is unique and tells the story of the maker and it's past life
    > small holes, spot repairs and other signs of use only add to the charm of the piece
    > size: 45" x 60"
    > each piece is pre-laundered

Details & Care: Launder alone, in cool water with a mild detergent. Hang to dry.
